The Green Fund was established to financially assist
registered community groups and organizations that are primarily concerned with
and engaged in activities related to the remediation – remedying environmental
damage, reforestation – replanting with trees and conversation of the
environment – preservation of the natural environment and wildlife.
The Green Fund Executing Unit
Cabinet Minute No. 1265 of May 12 2005 set out that the
Executing Unit is charged with the duty to provide timely reports with regard to
certification of activities and disbursement of monies under the Green Fund, in
order to carry their networking to various community groups and organisations.
The Green Fund Advisory Committee
This Committee will be appointed by the Minister for a term
of two (2) years and must act in an advisory capacity to the Minister on all
matters pertaining to the certification of activities for disbursement under the
Green Fund.
